Hi, I’m Christine, dog groomer and the proud owner of Groomingtails in Scarborough. Although my background has been in the hotel and catering industry, animals have always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to work with animals. It wasn’t until I took a job as a receptionist at a local veterinary clinic that I finally decided to follow that dream and pursue a career in grooming. While working at the clinic, I often found myself helping out with the animals, learning a great deal about their care, illnesses, and handling.
I’m deeply passionate about all animals, especially dogs. Being able to turn that passion into a career has been a dream come true—it’s truly the perfect fit for me. My grooming journey began in 2014 when I became the proud owner of Olive, a little Lhasa Apso who needed regular grooming. It was the perfect opportunity for me to dive into this field.
I hold City and Guilds Level 2 and 3 qualifications in dog grooming, which I earned from Bishop Burton College in 2015. I’m also trained in pet first aid and volunteer for the local RSPCA. Animals are a huge part of my life, and my pets mean the world to me. Our family currently includes one dog, three cats, and a willow tree filled with sparrows. I completely understand how daunting it can be to leave your beloved pets with someone new, but please rest assured, I will care for them as if they were my own.
When your dog is in my care, they are my top priority. It’s just me, your best friend, the sparrows, and of course, plenty of wagging tails—and if I’m really lucky, some salty kisses too!
